Bonnie Ryan has opened up about keeping her relationship private on social media ahead of her upcoming wedding to longtime love, John. Working as an influencer, it means that Bonnie shares a lot of her life online, but her relationship has always been something she’s kept out of the spotlight.
Last month she had her legal registry ahead of her wedding abroad this month, and although she did share some snaps from the day, she did continue to keep John’s face out of the images she posted.
Speaking about this with The Irish Sun she said; “It is kind of funny because it’s kind of like a double-edged sword. It’s like, the more you try and keep something private, unfortunately, the more people want to know about it.”
“I was brought up in this world. So to me, this is just kind of the life that I’ve known,” she added.
Continuing, the 29-year-old added that it’s tricky with her work being so public facing, and that now she is getting married people are more curious about her other half than ever.
She said; “I’ve obviously chosen a job, which is in the public eye. So that’s something I chose. Whereas for him, that’s just not. He totally supports everything I do but I have to also respect that this isn’t his thing.”
“And he has his own life in his own world. And of course, it’s always a little bit funny that people are so fascinated, because I’m just like, ‘I promise he’s real’ and hopefully, that’s just good enough for everyone.”
We recently caught up with Bonnie for Vows, our supplement which comes free in the current issue of VIP Magazine and she shared with us what she’s most looking forward to on her big day.
She said; “I’m very excited to just walk down the aisle and see John for the first time. I think that’s going to be so special. We’ve been on such a journey together. We’ve been together since we were so young, he’s my best friend and he’s been there for me through everything in my life. I feel like we might just start laughing when we see each other.”
Continuing she added; “I work in weddings doing bridal makeup and the mornings are so much fun so I’m excited to have that experience with my girls, to drink champagne and have some music playing while we get glam. I really enjoy doing my own makeup so I feel on the morning it’ll be almost therapeutic to do my own glam. It relaxes me. ”
“There’ll be lots of special moments throughout the day, but they’re the two I’m particularly looking forward to.”
