Bláthnaid Treacy is excited to become a mother for the first time.

She shared her good news on social media earlier this year, explaining that she and her husband Charlie Moon were expecting a baby girl.

In the April issue of VIP Magazine, we caught up with the RTÉ presenter as she goes into her “full nesting mode”.

While she comes from a family of six (Tommy Bowe voice “six children”), she tells us that a big family isn’t “on the cards” for herself and her husband.

“Big families are class, but it’s definitely not on the cards for us. We’ll have a small family, I think,” she tells VIP Magazine in the new issue.

“We’re looking at two, if we can, who knows, but I don’t think it’s possible to have such big families in this day and age. My mum had six kids, but she started when she was in her 20s. It was hilarious for us. I have four big brothers and one big sister.”

But she’s excited to welcome her first child and become a family of three. Although it will be a big change for her and Charlie as they have been together since they were 19.

“Charlie is going to be the most amazing dad. He’s just so caring and nurturing. He’s such a loving person,” she explains.

“He wanted a girl, he kept saying we were having a daughter and he was absolutely right. I can’t wait to see him stepping into the role, I feel like I’m going to fall in love with him all over again.”
