Bláthnaid Treacy is speaking out, asking followers to stop sharing overly graphic births stories with expecting parents.
The soon-to-be mum opened up on Instagram, and urged followers to hold back on the unsolicited advice and negativity, saying it’s simply “unhelpful.”
Explaining: “It’s incredibly daunting being pregnant, It’s so unhelpful when you give negative stories and say how horrific childbirth is and how your life is over.”
Sharing how awful it can be to constantly get bombarded with gory childbirth stories while pregnant, the 2fm DJ explained: “It’s actually so incredibly insensitive. Maybe you should think before you speak.”
“Unsolicited advice is so unhelpful.”
“Please be really sound to pregnant women because it’s really hard work growing a person.”
Bláthnaid announced that she and her husband Charlie Moon were expecting their first child, back in February.
She confirmed that she was 20 weeks pregnant in her Instagram post, sharing two pictures of herself cradling her baby bump with the sunset in the background.
Writing: “We can’t wait to meet you. Our little lady arrives this summer. Feeling so lucky and grateful.”
She and Charlie have been married for nearly four years. The couple said “I do” in the gorgeous surroundings of Kippure Estate in Co. Wicklow in June of 2019.
They first met when they were 19 years of age and almost a decade later, the singer popped the question.
