The Peabody Awards announced on Thursday the full list of nominees for their 83rd annual event and you’ll be happy to know that a certain Irish show has made the list.
Yep, Sharon Horgan’s very own Bad Sisters has only gone and earned itself a well-deserved nomination!
The awards honour 2022’s most compelling and empowering stories across broadcasting and streaming media, with a total of 69 TV, podcast/radio and web/digital programs in the categories of entertainment, news, documentary, arts, children’s/youth, public service and interactive programming nominated this year.
Emmy-nominated Abbott Elementary, Atlanta, Bob’s Burgers and We’re Here are among the entertainment nominees along with new series like Andor, Mo, Pachinko and Somebody Somewhere.

“From hilarious and heartfelt comedies to interactive and immersive stories that leverage technology to create gripping narratives, Peabody is dedicated to recognizing compelling stories across the media landscape,” said Jeffrey Jones, executive director of Peabody, in a statement.
“We’re thrilled to nominate each of these remarkable pieces of media and to honour the forward-thinking Shari Frilot with our inaugural Visionary Award.”
The winners of the 83rd annual Peabody Awards will be announced on May 9 and then celebrated on Sunday, June 11, at a ceremony at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Los Angeles.
This will be Peabody’s first in-person ceremony since 2019.
Most recently, Bad Sistes received multiple nominations for the television BAFTAs.
These included Best Drama Series and Best Supporting Actress for Anne-Marie Duff as well as nominations for Dearbhla Walsh for Best Director: Fiction.
The awards take place in London’s Royal Festival Hall on Sunday 14 May.
Between the BAFTAs and the Peabody Awards, we hope to see Bad Sisters get the recognition it deserves!!
