Artist Audrey Hamilton is set to become a mother for the first time this year.
She and her husband Jack Lowe are excited to become parents, admitting that they are “child mad”!
Speaking to VIP Magazine, she admits that her pregnancy has been an “amazing experience”, although there have been some challenges.
“During the first three months I had to stay away from the studio, I didn’t paint at all because the morning sickness was quite unbearable. I couldn’t smell paint or look at it coming out of the tube… it’d turn my stomach,” she admits, which is certainly a struggle for an artist.
“In the second trimester I just started getting a little bit tired, and I’d usually have been a good power walker but not anymore, it has turned into a bit of a waddle [laughs].
“Now I’m in the third trimester and my tummy is big, I’m feeling a bit uncomfortable in the heat but all in all, it’s been an amazing experience. I can feel the baby kicking away right now. Every so often I’d forget I’m pregnant and then get a little kick like, ‘Hey, I’m here!’ It’s been good!”
With her due date fast approaching, Audrey and Jack have all the prep work done. Although she jokes: “I haven’t really bought anything in terms of clothes yet. I feel like once I start I won’t be able to stop! I’m so tempted every time I’m in a shop passing by the little clothes.”
While babies have always been on the cards, Audrey admits: “For me building my career was very important so having that set up before trying for a baby was key. We were delighted things went to plan.”
