You couldn’t make this up: Daniel O’Donnell’s new tv show with wife Majella had to put a hold on filming after the set was mobbed by “super gran fans”.
The couple are currently recording a six-part series for UTV Ireland – Daniel and Majella’s B&B Road Trip, which follows the Donegal pair around Ireland while only staying in Bed and Breakfast accommodation. And it appears that the news has overly excited some of the singer’s elderly followers.
While filming an episode of the show in Cork, Daniel’s adoring fans swooped onto the shoot to catch a glimpse of their idol.
A source working on the show revealed what happened to The Irish Sun: “There was a huge level of secrecy surrounding film shoots, no one was supposed to know that Daniel was coming.”
“Within minutes of him turning up, the door bell would be ringing with local fans turning up wanting autographs.
“It was the worst kept secret in history. It was pure chaos,” the source added.
The show is set to broadcast later this year, and VIP Towers is VERY excited. B&B hosts will show the couple around the areas they visit, and locals are said to provide a evening of entertainment – and we can’t wait to have a up-and-close insight into one of fave Irish celebrity couples.
