Arthur Gourounlian is the proudest father. As soon as we meet at the Platinum VIP Style Awards launch he begins to gush about his daughter, Blake.
He and his husband Brian Dowling welcomed their first child last year via surrogate.
Time has flown, the Dancing with the Stars judge confesses. He can’t believe that it has been over half a year since Blake appeared on the cover of VIP Magazine.
“She’s the most stylish baby!” he laughs, reminiscing on the day when Blake was less than two months old.
And despite the fact she is only seven months old, Arthur tells VIP Magazine that she is an “old soul”.
“She’s amazing and she’s growing so fast. Everything is going so well. I feel she’s been with us forever,” he tells us.
“I want her to be an independent woman, which she already is. It’s like she’s been here already. People keep telling us that she is an old soul. She knows what’s happening, she knows what she wants, and she sits like a little old woman judging me all the time!”
Arthur is delighted to be able to spend time with his daughter, telling us: “I love being at home with her and cuddling but I’m the type of person who can’t stand still. I’m a doer. I will grab her and go for errands or go for a walk. I want her to be active.”
Being a parent isn’t the only shake up in his relationship with Brian as the reality star has started a new job as a radio presenter on 98FM.
“Brian has started his new job Monday to Friday so I get to spend all my time with Blake. I am loving it. He never had a nine to five job,” he teases.
“The dynamic is new because before we were freelancers. It’s a different dynamic but it’s the best dynamic. We are really good at teamwork. We have a system. It’s great for him and I love my life right now.”
Of course, we had to ask him how he was feeling after his nomination in the Most Stylish Man category which is brought to you by Dyson.
“This is mental! I’m not going to lie, Brian was here in 2019 and he won. Never in a million years did I think I’d be here. It’s crazy!” he admits.
“I’ve always loved fashion. Fashion has been in my life even before dancing. I’ve been quite a quirky guy with my style, absolutely unapologetic. Being nominated is already an honour to me. I’ve done it.”
