The Olivier winner will return to the West End stage in Vanya, a new adaptation of Anton Chekhov’s classic play.

According to Deadline, the Dubliner will play four characters in total: “Vanya; his late sister’s husband, Serebryakov, and his new wife, Yelena; and Sonya, who is Serebryakov’s daughter from his first marriage.”

As far as the storyline goes, Vanya follows a family beset by secrets, illicit love interests, and deep divides over their burdensome estate.

Speaking about the play in a statement Andrew described it as: “Heartbreaking, hilarious, sexy, devastating.”

Adding: “This is work that reminds me again and again that theatre is our greatest art form.”

“The most alive. The funniest. The sexiest. The most heartbreaking. The most human.”

The Fleabag star is set to begin rehearsals this summer before a number of shows at the Richmond Theatre from late August to early September.

Vanya will then move to the Duke of York’s Theatre in the West End from 15 September to 21 October.

We can’t wait to see him in action!
