She may have missed the Peter Mark VIP Style Awards on Friday – but Today FM presenter Mairead Farrell had a good excuse.
The tv and radio star skipped our annual celebration of fashion to celebrate her last days as a single girl with her closest friends for a fun hen weekend in Galway.
The redhead seemed to have had a ball partying with her pals on the weekend away, and shared a number of pics online with the obligatory jokey veil and sash, including one with Today FM colleague Pamela Blake.
“It’s Muriel’s Wedding,” she captioned one.
Mairead and fiance Louis Ronan got engaged in Tuscany, Italy last year after three years together and are set to walk down the aisle this summer.
The pair are notoriously private when it comes to their relationship.
On their wedding day, the Ireland’s Fittest Families host’s son Dara, from her previous marriage, will play a special part – double best man for both the bride and groom.
Mairead has spoken in the past for her wish to provide Dara with some brothers and sisters in the future.
She has also opened up before about the failure of her first marriage, to Eamon Fitzpatrick, a director at her radio station, in 2004.
Mairead said she knew she wed too early a year into the marriage, and later realised that she jumped into a wedding in a bid to mask the pain of her mum Maureen’s passing in 2001 from cancer.
