Xposé host Glenda Gilsen has been doing a spot of reminiscing today about a certain VIP shoot that took place exactly a decade ago today.
The TV3 stunner is currently sunning herself with hubby Rob Macnaughton in Marbella, yet she took a gander down memory lane to when she took place in our sensational shoot with model boss Andrea Roche in Malta, back in July 2005.
Posting this snap on Instragram (check out those pins!), she captioned it: “Can’t believe this shoot took place this day 10 years ago in Malta@vip.magazine @andrearochemodelagency#vipmagazine #models #malta #shoot“.
Here’s what happened when we met the pair.
Location:
The stunning surroundings of Malta
Photographer:
Mella Travers
Background:
Glenda (24) and Andrea (28) were Ireland’s two best-known Irish models at the time, and hardly a day went by without them gracing the pages of an Irish magazine or newspaper. The two brunette beauties were also working together on the Miss Ireland 2005 pageant.
The Feature:
We met the two models in the exotic location of Malta, after they had spent four days holidaying together in the beautiful country, and they admitted they found our photo-shoot slightly more difficult than what they were used to at home due to the overpowering heat!
In fact, Glenda laughed to us that she was more used to modeling bikinis in the “freezing cold” on Grafton Street for the many photocalls she took part in during the Celtic Tiger era.
When talking about their future plans, Andrea said she was writing for VIP at the time, as well as styling and working for TV3 on Ireland AM, while Glenda admitted a career in tv is “always what (she) wanted to do”. “Modelling is where I’m making my contacts and getting my confidence,” she said. “I did tv and radio broadcasting in college.
Since then, of course, Glenda has gone on to be one of the stars of TV3’s Xposé, while Andrea has proven herself to be a successful businesswoman with her model agency, AR Models.
