Eoghan McDermott has revealed that he was viscously attacked on St Stephen’s night.
The incident occurred when the Limerick native was walking down an unnamed road and he was knocked unconscious by an attacker.
The broadcaster was understandably shook from the incident and he suffered a concussion which resulted in him having to get a brain scan.
Eoghan took to Twitter to describe the incident and to let his attacker know that they won’t get away with it.
“Some coward jumped me from behind as I was walking down the road last night, got knocked unconscious. Brain scan, concussion. I’ll find you!” he wrote.

The 2fm DJ has received an outpouring of sympathy and support from fans and friends since he spoke out about his ordeal.
This attack comes just a few days before Eoghan is due to host the 3Countdown Concert in Dublin.
