We also have pages packed with good news as well as all the telly, events and books that we’ll be obsessed with this month.
But of course, we have to start with our fabulous cover stars Mary Kennedy and Mary McAleese.
The two women have launched a joint podcast together and we nabbed them for their first ever joint photoshoot. And we’re simply obsessed with the shoot.
Speaking about launching their own podcast Mary Kennedy tells us: “My partner Tom is an avid podcast listener. He loves the ones
with duos and was very taken with The Rest is Politics with Alastair Campbell and Rory Stewart.
“There’s a nice kind of dynamic between the two presenters and he just thought that the dynamic between the two of us would work really well. So, after several cups of tea with Tom and Martin (Mary Mc’s husband) and our producer Enda, we said we’d give it a whirl.
“It’s very important for both of us that this podcast is happening outside the metropolis, in Kildare, and that our guests come to this beautiful place where Enda has his studio on the Bog of Allen.”
In our chat with them, we discuss friendship, family, faith, public life, presidential days and knitting.
We also got to take a look into the fabulous life of Triona McCarthy. And we think we stumbled into Barbie World whilst hanging out with her. If you want to see real glamour then you’ll need to pick up the magazine to flick through her stunning snaps!
She jokes that she is The Triona Show! She laughs at her nickname Party McCarthy because yes, she loves to party! But even with her gift to entertain, she still has time for everyone.
Triona chats about menopause and ADHD with us, explaining: “When I was diagnosed [with ADHD] 15 years ago, aged 35, I was genuinely so embarrassed. I was like [mock crying] ‘I’ve another thing wrong with me’! Because I have always felt completely out of step with everyone else.”
But who needs to be in step with everyone else when you’re Triona McCarthy?!
We also got to sit down with Dancing with the Stars champion Jason Smyth and his fabulous family. And his wife Elise and two daughters, eight-year-old Evie and five-year-old Lottie were ready to steal the show.
“Obviously I wanted to go on Dancing with the Stars to raise awareness for visual impairment, but it was also for them. This is something they could get involved in, something they could enjoy. They loved watching me on stage each week in glittery costumes, seeing me go on to lift the trophy, and now, they get to play dress up here today,” Jason tells us with a smile.
