He’s been under strict instructions to keep his wedding details top secret, but last night rugby player Tommy Bowe finally opened up about his big day.
Tommy proposed to the former Miss Wales Lucy Whitehouse in April of last year, but refused to reveal any more information about when they will walk down the aisle.
But speaking at The Hibernia College IRUPA Rugby Players Awards at Dublin’s Double Tree Hilton hotel last night, the Monaghan native admitted the wedding will be very soon.
“I’ll probably be shot for saying anything but it’s coming pretty soon,” he told Goss.ie.
“It’s coming VERY soon and it’s been crazy. I don’t think it’s really hit either of us yet because it’s happening so quickly.
He added: “But we are really looking forward to it. It’s going to be a great day out for the two of us and for our family and friends too. It’s going to be a great day.”
The hunky sportsman also told Goss that he has been very involved with wedding plans.
“You’d probably get two different answers if you asked myself and Lucy. I think she would 100% say no I’ve done nothing,” he laughed.
“But I think 150% I’ve done way more than I thought I would be doing. I try to get involved as much as I can.
“Probably not to the same amount that Lucy would have liked but listen if I was to get more involved I’d probably have had enough,” he added.
Tommy previously spoke about wanting to leave most of the wedding planning to his beautiful blonde other half, who works as a nurse.
“I’m trying to stay as far out of it as I can,” he joked. “I imagine I’ll end up turning up in some burgundy suit and she’ll probably kill me!”
He also admitted that he was shocked by the female reaction to his engagement news, when thousands of smitten fans were left heartbroken.
“I think we were both a bit taken back by it. It was announced and went on social media and the pictures came out and it became very public,” he said.
“We were both blown away by the response to it.”
