A seriously amazing video of Imelda May’s NYE gig at the INEC Killarney has emerged, showing footage of a pretty special dance-off.
Imelda played the Kerry venue on New Year’s Eve in front of friends and members of her family, who travelled down to watch her perform with her band. Also in the audience was Maura Ryan, a 26-year-old super fan from Limerick.
Maura, who has Down syndrome, is also passionate about dancing, so when her music idol invited her up on stage, it was only natural that she should challenge her to a dance-off.
Speaking to the Daily Edge, Maura’s proud sister Catriona commented: ” She was absolutely elated afterwards.She kept saying ‘I did it, I did it’. Post show, random strangers were coming up to her saying well done and all of that.”
