RTÉ have just announced that they’re set to make a three-part documentary called The Late Late Toy Show Unwrapped, on the making of this year’s Toy Show. It’s set to give viewers an inside view on how Ireland’s favourite programme is created.
Filming has begun across Ireland this week as The Late Late Toy Show tours the country in search of talented young singers, musicians and dancers. The Late Late Toy Show Unwrapped sees cameras follow the performers right from the very start of the process, through the nerve-wracking auditions to preparations for the big night itself.
Speaking of the exciting new documentary producer Hillary Jones said that this year audiences will get to see all the behind the scenes action of what it takes to put on the nation’s favourite show of the year.
“Last year, The Late Late Toy Show Unwrapped, gave viewers a small glimpse of the regional auditions as we looked back over the history of the show but this year we’re bringing them right into the heart of the process. We really want to capture the joy and excitement of the performers taking part in The Late Late Toy Show.
“For the children auditioning this is a once in a lifetime experience. We’re aiming to give viewers a real insight in how the biggest night on Irish television comes together by following some of the little stars auditioning to take part and going behind the scenes with the team who put the show together,” she said.
The Late Late Toy Show Unwrapped will air the week before this year’s The Late Late Toy Show as excitement builds for the big night. The Toy Show itself hits our screens on RTÉ One on Friday, December 2nd.
We’re already counting down the days!
