Viewers of The One Show have slated Angela Scanlon for her “rude” and “awkward” interview with Emma Willis.
Emma appeared on the BBC show yesterday to chat about Big Brother and other aspects of her life, but the interview turned awkward when she was abruptly interrupted by Angela mid-story.
The British presenter was asked by Angela and co-host Ore Oduba what her favourite sweet was, and as she started to tell a sweet anecdote about her grandad, she was cut-off by Angela.
“Well one of my all-time favourites – because my grandad always had a jar of them in his house and I would literally eat the whole bowl…” she said.
Before she could finish her sentence the Irish host interjected saying, “We’ll come back to that.”
Emma looked bewildered and said, “Oh!”
Angela’s co-host Ore tried to ease the situation by joking to Emma saying, “You tease!”
Although it was clear Angela only interrupted the story because producers told her they were short on time, this didn’t stop viewers taking to Twitter to vent.
One viewer chimed in saying, “Awkwardly ask a guest something only to rudely interrupt them & go to a recording”.
Another wrote, ” That presenter Completely cut Emma off!”
However, being a seasoned presenter herself, Emma didn’t seem to mind the abrupt interruption, and she took to Twitter to say she had a great time on the show, and shared a photo with Angela and Ore.
