Both Aldi and Dunnes Stores have recalled one of their food products due to a risk of containing Listeria.

The Wonderfoods Salad products, which are sold in both stores were shown to have traces of the bacteria, which could lead to meningitis in some people.

The product in question is the Chicken, Bacon and Sweetcorn deli filler, with the bacon thought to be the affected item.

The Food Safety Authority have issued the recall of the product, which has been sold in Aldi and Dunnes Stores nationwide.

“As a precautionary measure, Wonderfoods is recalling certain batches of their salads that contain a batch of bacon that possibly contains Listeria monocytogenes,” the FSA said in a statement issued on Friday.
