Una Foden has denied trouble in paradise with her rugby hunk husband Ben.
The singer caused people to question her marriage when she changed back to her maiden name Healy on Twitter, but she has reassured fans that she is as happy as ever.
“It is nothing to do with my personal life,” she explained. “It is my stage name and I am just about to go solo again and it is like reverting back to that name I had when I was first a singer songwriter.
“It’s like going back to my roots. Ben is 100 per cent behind me and he supports me — he even made an online joke about it. It is the name I want to be known as when I am announced on stage as a solo artist.”
She told Evoke.ie: “To be honest I’m a bit surprised at the commotion because most people know me as Una from the Saturdays. It is like Saturday was my surname.
“As a person I just feel that for my music it suits to have my own name because it is so different from the band. There are no domestics going on at home I can assure you of that. Everything is grand my husband supports me and it is not like I will be changing my name on my passport.”
The Tipperary beauty added: “I am still going to be Mammy Foden to my children and I am Mrs Una Foden the rest of the time. The only time I am Una Healy is when I am on stage as a solo artist.”
