We have seen many famous faces doing kind and generous deeds recently. In the midst of a global pandemic we have seen Matt Damon share a message of congratulations to 6th year Dalkey students graduating, generous sums of money donated by many Irish celebrities including Niall Horan, Bono and Suzanne Jackson.
To add to this list, in recent days pictures have emerged of the countries favourite crooner, Daniel O’Donnell singing for the elderly in Co Donegal.
Due to social distancing rules and to keep the residents safe Daniel did not go into the nursing homes. Instead he performed to them from the car park as they gathered at the windows to hear him sing.
Twitter has been awash with people praising the country singer as he lifts the spirits of those in nursing homes currently unable to see their families.
We don’t deserve Daniel O’Donnell 😭

Daniel [O’Donnell] has been lifting the spirits of the sick and elderly confined to community hospitals and nursing homes around County #Donegal by performing for them from a social distance. Such a kind gesture #COVID19ireland pic.twitter.com/rUjYLuAoJt

Genuinely kind and caring, does a huge amount for charity, constantly goes out of his way for fans and gets to know many of them personally, self-deprecating and funny, all while being publicly ridiculed for years? National treasure. https://t.co/x8cmAis7qH
