Tommy Tiernan has spoken out about his awkward tv interview with Vogue Williams earlier this year.
The comedian recently launched the first series of The Tommy Tiernan Show, which saw him interview guests without having any idea who they were before they walked out on stage, and this proved to be particularly awkward for TV presenter, model and DJ Vogue – as he didn’t recognise her!
As the former Fade Street star walked on to the stage, she realised that Tommy didn’t know who she was and said, “You’ve no idea who I am, do you? “No. Let me guess, you’re a handball player,” joked Tommy. “I mean I know your name, I thought you played tennis in America!” he responded
Luckily, the pair quickly got over their initial awkward moment and went on to have an interesting chat about a variety of topics.
It seems that Vogue left a lasting impression on Tommy, as he has nothing but praise for her following their interview.
“She has a wonderful manner, Vogue. I think if I had have known stuff about her beforehand I might have been slightly prejudiced,” he said on The Neil Prendeville Show on Red FM.
