“There’s such a lovely bond between them all”: Rachel Gorry chats being a mother of five

Rachel Gorry

Rachel Gorry welcomed her twins, Ryan and Evie, with her partner Adrien Kiernan in August.

Now being a mother of five has changed her life. She’s entered a new chapter of her life with her eldest daughter turning 15 and re-entering the newborn stage.

She’s a busy woman and she’s also just launched a collection with Lynott Jewellery. VIP Magazine sat down with the bubbly Offaly woman to chat about life, the festive period and how things have changed…

Rachel Gorry

Hi Rachel. We want to say congratulations on your bundles of joy! You welcomed your two miracles this summer — what has it been like to be a mam of five?

It’s been amazing and absolutely chaotic in the best way possible! I feel so blessed every day. The house is full of noise and love and laughter — and yes, a bit of madness too. But I wouldn’t have it any other way. It’s definitely a juggle, but my heart is so full.

And a boy mam for the first time!

Yes! Having a little boy has been such a new and lovely experience. It’s funny because after having four girls, I was in total pink mode for years — so it’s been really special to experience the other side of it. He’s absolutely spoiled by his sisters, too; they adore him.

Your eldest turned 15! But what is it like to have such a varied age range of kids in the house?

It’s so special — they all have such different relationships with each other. Leah is now like a sister to me and is like a second mammy to the twins. There’s such a lovely bond between them all. Of course, it can be tricky balancing the needs of a teenager and newborns at the same time, but it’s also what makes our family dynamic so full of love and fun.

Tell us a bit about the collection!

I’m honestly so proud of this collection — it’s something that’s been in the works for quite a while, and to finally see it come to life is just so special. The Rachel Gorry x Lynott Collection is all about timeless, elegant pieces that you can wear every day but that still feel really special. Each piece is designed to be meaningful — something you’d love yourself or gift to someone you care about. It’s classic, feminine and versatile, which is exactly what I wanted to create and I named the pieces after all the women in my life.

Do you have a favourite piece?

That’s such a hard one because I genuinely love them all, but if I had to pick, I’d say the Moira watch is my go-to, and I love that this is the first time Lynott have launched a watch, it’s dressy but can still be worn day to day.

What would be your go-to accessory for every outfit?

Earrings, always! Even on the days when I’m in a tracksuit running around after the kids, I’ll still pop on a pair of hoops — it just makes me feel a bit more put together. Jewellery really has that magic of making you feel good, no matter what you’re wearing.

Christmas is just around the corner. Tell us your plans!

Christmas is my favourite time of year, especially now with all the kids. We’ll be at home, surrounded by family, and I just can’t wait for it — cosy nights, matching PJs, and way too much food! It’ll be extra special this year with the twins’ first Christmas, too. I’m really looking forward to slowing down and soaking it all in.
