The VIP List…What Team VIP is loving this week

September has arrived and with it comes the start of autumn. Okay, well technically it started in August, but it really only feels like it now.

As usually this time of year tends to bring a lot of new beginnings, whether that be new projects at work, starting a new school year, returning to university, or even getting those dreading leaving cert results. While change can be a good, it hard to find someone who doesn’t find it a little daunting or overwhelming.

But if life is feeling a little bit too go-go-go at the minute, well, we have the perfect bits to help you unwind. So in the midst of all this chaos, what have we found time to enjoy this week?

Well…

Deputy Editor Niamh is loving…Nespresso’s coffee made for ice

Summer may be technically over, but my craving for iced coffee will not be deterred. There’s nothing I love more than a refreshing gulp of an iced latte in the morning, and even better when it’s not costing me €4.50 a pop. With Nespresso’s made for ice coffee pods, I can easily make my own at home, and I especially have been loving the limited-edition Barista Creations Exotic Liminha flavour, which gives a light, fruity hint of lime and mint. Get a pack for €6.50, nespresso.com

Digital Editor Bronwyn is loving…Bat Out of Hell: The Musical

This week I was kindly invited to Bat Out of Hell, the brand new musical in the Bord Gáis. My mam is a massive Meatloaf fan so I grew up listening to plenty of his ballads so I was prepared to get into this mega musical.

The musical features songs like You Took the Words Right Out of My Mouth, Bat Out of Hell, I Would Do Anything for Love (But I Won’t Do That) and Two Out Of Three Ain’t Bad. Bat Out of Hell is an epic story of rebellious youth and passion as Strat, the immortal leader of The Lost, has fallen in love with Raven, the beautiful daughter of the tyrannical ruler Falco. The plot is absolutely bananas, as it should be for a Meatloaf musical!

Before we took our seats in the theatre, we were able to enjoy a tipple in the stunning Terrace Club, which is a must-visit if you’re a die-hard musical fan. Bat Out of Hell runs until the 10th of September, you can get your tickets here.

Weekend Editor Sláine is loving…Roku Streaming Stick

Love them or loath them Smart TV’s are convenient. Allowing you to watch all your favourite streaming services on an actual screen instead of hunched over your phone.

But if you’re looking for all the convenience without have to dump out a perfectly functional telly, well, I’ve the perfect option.

Roku Streaming Stick plugs into the back of your TV, allowing you to access all your favourite shows and film.

There are plenty of streaming stick options out there, but I really think Roku is the best choice. They have every streaming service under the sun, from Netflix to the RTÉ Player. Plus it’s pretty affordable at around €39.99.
