Summer is here. Can you believe it?
And there’s plenty to celebrate. We’ve been blasting Ed Sheeran’s new album all day.
If you’ve been looking for your new Saturday night spot there are plenty of new options with the Odeon Bar launching a new cocktail menu, a new over-25’s nightclub SEEK is opening it’s doors this week and the Harcourt Bar & Garden has kicked off it’s summer season.
If you are going for a different vibe, Wellfest is this weekend so you can get your workout on.
Check out what we’ve been loving this week…
Digital Editor Bronwyn is loving…summer clothes
Okay, the weather might not be exactly summer. But I’m ready to break out my shorts and sunhats.
I’m planning holidays and staycations to really make the most of the next few months.
And I’m loving picking out some staple summer wardrobe pieces. I’m a big fan of Oxendales’ size-inclusive ranges which include some gorgeous sundresses and rompers. I also love their beach bags and towels, because of course, I’ll be spending a lot of time by the seaside this summer.
A recent survey found that 45 per cent of Irish women call themselves a pear shape, with 36 per cent of Irish women describing it very hard to shop for their body shape. Oxendales is striving to change that and I, for one, couldn’t be happier about it.
Staff Writer Anja is loving… Q BY DOLCE & GABBANA
I always struggle when it comes to choosing a perfume that I like. Maybe they’re too sweet, too strong, too flowery even? But I also believe in different scents for different seasons, which brings me to the new Q by Dolce & Gabbana Eau de Parfum.
Firstly, Q is described as a “signature fragrance for a powerful individual, a woman who shares herself with those who bring her deeper energy and embolden her distinctive heart.” Yes, that’s definitely a bit of me now! Carrying notes of Sicilian lemon, cherry, and cedarwood, I honestly feel like a queen while wearing it, which is quite fitting seeing as the bottle features a regal gold crown in a cherry red tone inspired by the heart note of the fragrance.
The woody, fruit scent is both tangy and sweet, while the mellow Musk at the base reinforces a sense of self-confidence that reminds us women how much of a Queen we really are! Safe to say I’m obsessed.
Q Eau de Parfum by Dolce&Gabbana is available in 50ml, 100ml, and 150ml.
Weekend editor Sláine is loving…Polite Society
Polite Society has been the talk of the town recently so naturally I was very excited to see it, and the film definitely lives up to the hype.
Starring Bridgerton’s Priya Kansara and The Umbrella Academy’s Ritu Arya, it follows Ria (Kansara) a stunt woman in the making, who is incredibly close to her art school dropout sister Lena (Arya), who has moved back home.
However, their sisterhood is thrown into turmoil when Lena starts seeing posh doctor Salim, who Ria believes will hold Lena back from her career as an artist. It also doesn’t help that she’s convinced Salim and his mother Raheela are pure evil. And so begins some truly bizarre and hilarious attempts to break the couple up.
Honestly, Polite Society has something for every packed full of humour, action, friendship, amazing costumes and set design…along with a majorly chaotic wedding (which I strongly believe every film should include).
Definitely worth a watch if you’re heading to the cinema!
