If you love to cook then you’ve probably come across The Daly Dish in your travels.

Gina and Karol Daly started sharing their dreamy recipes online and quickly cemented their place as culinary geniuses to their thousands of followers.

VIP Magazine caught up with the family after the success of their third cookbook, with Gina confessing she could never have imagined anything like this.

“It all started as a very small, basic Instagram page to keep track of my food, basically as a little diary and then all of a sudden, I got a message from a publishing company asking me to write a cookbook,” she admitted.

“I thought it was a complete joke! From that moment on, things escalated very quickly to another level. To have this viral cookbook which outsold Nigella Lawson, Jamie Oliver and made history with presales, was incredible. It was a real ‘pinch-me’ moment.”

As for why she thinks their recipes exploded, she is very bashful.

“Timing played a big part. The first book came out in March 2020, the day the whole world shut down. Obviously, people found themselves in a position where they were stuck at home for the first time ever, they couldn’t leave and go to a restaurant and no fast food outlets were open.

“They were looking for that takeaway style fix and that’s what the first book was about. Everything is made with easy ingredients that you probably already have in the press and the recipes aren’t very difficult. People who didn’t have much confidence found themselves making these gorgeous meals.”

To read the full interview and hear about why she thinks her third child, Gene was “sent to them for a reason” pick up the November issue of VIP Magazine, on shelves now.
