Summer season of Love Island to go ahead despite Covid19 fears

The summer series of Love Island is set to go ahead despite the current Covid19 outbreak.

Instead of cancelling the popular reality show, ITV bosses are reportedly pushing the new air date back to July.

Recruiting potential islanders can take weeks, even months – and this said to be ongoing.

A source told MailOnline: “All the usual preparations are going ahead.

”The team are still committed to the series airing this summer. The show will go on.”

This comes shortly after it was revealed Ireland’s very own Laura Whitmore would return as the show’s host.

The Bray native recently opened up to YOU Magazine about the pressures of fame, and how hosting the infamous show has changed her life.

Laura said: “The presenting side of things I feel comfortable with. It’s the other things that I have to come to terms with. Suddenly there’s a photographer taking pictures of you picking up your dog’s sh*t in the park.”
