Students step out in style to celebrate sustainability at aparto student accommodation

Sustainability is one of the most important initiatives for aparto student accommodation, and this month they got to celebrate exactly that as they put on a night of glitz and glamour as they welcomed back in-person events for the first time in over two years.

Hosted by stylist Irene O’Brien, students and invited guests took their seats for an evening of fashion and fun, moving from a catwalk show to a thrifting experience, all highlighting the importance of thinking and acting more consciously.

Committed to playing its part in a greener way of living and encouraging residents to do the same, the event was focused on spreading awareness on the importance of slow fashion and put the spotlight on some incredible vintage brands, as well as featuring looks from both student and staff donations as well as charity shops.

All 20 looks modelled by 10 aparto TU Dublin, TCD, UCD, RCSI residents at the showcase were totally preloved, highlighting how exciting upcycling and playing around with one-of-a-kind garments can be.

After the fashion show, a thrifting pop-up allowed residents and guests to then, flex their fingers and find some gems themselves. Which was all for a good cause, as funds raised were donated to the Sick of Plastic campaign.

Also dished out on the night were cocktails from Teeling Whiskey, NOBL WATR, kombucha from Ireland’s only carbon neutral kombucha – All About Kombucha and plants on show in creative ways thanks to Greenminds.irl; who turn rubbish into something worth keeping. A mindset aparto also stand by with their waste nothing outlook across all student accommodations in Dublin, Milan and the UK.
