This year we saw our favourite Irish celebrities becoming that little bit more daring when it came to their style choices.
Gone were tight dresses and perfect co-ordination for many of our ‘slebs, who seemed to embrace a much more fashion-forward approach to their wardrobe.
However, although VIP applauds adventurous decisions, unfortunately for some stars, the gamble didn’t exactly pay off.
Here are our top hits, and misses, from 2015.
Hits
Lorraine Keane at the VIP Style Awards
A favourite of VIP’s, Lorraine didn’t disappoint at the Peter Mark VIP Style Awards this year. We loved her subtle flash of skin, teamed with a pop of colour from her clutch.
Roz Purcell, VIP Style Awards
Although not as iconic as THAT blue suit from her Scribe by Roz range the year before at our awards – which had everyone talking – Rozanna dared to be different again this year and stood out among a sea of floor length dresses. We loved those pom-pom earrings too!
Kathryn Thomas – IFTAs 2015
The RTE presenter rarely seems to make a fashion faux pas, but she was a true knock-out in this dress for the Irish Film and Television Awards. The contrast of different textures, and muted grey shades teamed with a pop of pink lippy made this a look to remember.
Rosanna Davison, IFTAs
The reason why we liked this look so much on the model was simply that she stepped so far out of her comfort zone. Usually a fan of tight dresses and very feminine colours, this adventurous, glam-goth look made Rosanna stand out. Yes, she’s flashing a lot of flesh, but it’s done in a sleek, sexy way – and who wouldn’t want to show off that body?
Vogue Williams, Littlewoods AW 15
A girl like Vogue can wear a black bag and make it look good, but we particularly liked this LBD on the model. It’s simple, understated and the cape detailing gives it an edge. Teamed with a cute pair of heels, and a sleek side pony, she killed it!
Misses
Lisa Cannon at the Style Awards
Sorry Lisa, but we think you know by now that this was a serious fashion fail. The Xpose star went for plenty of frills and cleavage, but it was a bit too much.
Louise Duffy at the IFTAs
Red is a gorgeous colour on the radio star, but this just feels a little bit Strictly Come Dancing. The sequins and belt make the dress slightly dated and tacky.
Susan Loughnane, Mary Poppins
The actress went for a cut-out look for the opening night of the musical, but unfortunately it just looks like her dress had a run-in with a pair of scissors!
Lisa Murphy at the Cari Charity Summer lunch
We think this is a fab colour on Lisa, and we love the contrast with her nails, but less is more and there’s a little bit too much on show.
Daniella Moyles at the Spectre pre-party
The model has a strong sense of independent style, which we adore, but this is a little too Harry Potter-esque – if Harry was to carry a bottle Belvedere vodka instead of a broom!
