When we heard that Sharon Horgan was going to be writing and starring in a new show, we knew that we would be hooked.
The first two episodes dropped on Apple TV+ over the weekend and fans have been singing its praises.
The series follows five Irish sisters who team up the kill one of the women’s abusive husbands. As dark as it sounds, Sharon’s signature wit shines throughout.
She is joined by Eve Hewson, Sarah Greene, Anne-Marie Duff and Eva Birthistle as the five Garvy sisters.
Reviewers were quick to praise the show, comparing it to Reese Witherspoon and Nicole Kidman’s hit series, Big Little Lies.
Vanity Fair stated: “‘Bad Sisters’ may hurtle forward with the energy of an offbeat whodunnit, but the five irrepressible sisters at its core set it apart from its competition. And, of course, there’s Sharon Horgan’s unmatched humour.”
While TIME Magazine wrote: “Bad Sisters is a wickedly funny crime dramedy with Big Little Lies energy.”
As for the viewers, Maia Dunphy was among those praising the series, gushing: “Just watched the first two eps of #BadSisters. Oooh, it’s as good as I’d hoped! Third ep out Friday.”
My word, #BadSisters is brilliant. I want to binge the whole thing, damn @AppleTV for making us wait!

First episode of Bad Sisters (Apple TV) was superb. You just can’t go wrong with Sharon Horgan, can you?

Hey, @SharonHorgan is basically my favorite performer and writer and she has a new murder mystery black comedy called Bad Sisters on AppleTV+ and it’s even better than that sounds, somehow.

Okay so #BadSisters is brilliant. Audibly gasping at the dark truth of sisterhood in this. @SharonHorgan can we please be best friends and plot the downfall of all pricks in darkly comedic prose together?
I'm not asking for a lot right? Nah, super reasonable.
