Shane Quigley Murphy absolutely killed his first week on Dancing with the Stars.
And he’s eager to follow it up with an even more impressive routine on Sunday night.
He and his pro-partner, Laura Nolan will be dancing the Waltz to At This Moment by Michael Bublé.
Clearly he’s putting in a lot of work into his routines, so how is he balancing his rehearsal with his Fair City filming schedule?
Speaking to VIP Magazine, he jokes: “From the bags under my eyes, sleep is a commodity I’m running out of at the moment.”
However, he’s quick to tell us: “It’s doable. It’s early starts. I’m into filming at 7:30am and wrapped by around half six. Then straight over to rehearsals until, what does Laura say, until I start to go vacant behind the eyes.
“We usually go a few hours at a time. For example, on Fridays I don’t film so we’ll use that time as much as we can. We’re rolling with the punches to utilise the time we have.”
Fair City recently confirmed that it would be airing one less episode per week, so how has that changed Shane’s filming schedule?
Well it looks like not a lot, at the minute.
“It is a bit of a kick in the you-know-where for fans. But for me, it won’t really affect our filming schedule.
“But it just means we won’t film in July or August. So it’s a slight blessing in disguise that I’ll have a bit of time off during the summer. I completely adore Fair City but I’m always looking for other acting work like voiceovers or theatre or film or TV. Yes, it’s a bit annoying for the fans but in the grand scheme of things I don’t think it’ll be too much of an issue.”
DWTS continues on RTÉ One at 6:30pm on Sunday
