We know that Saoirse Ronan was supposed to star in Barbie.
Unfortunately, due to her busy schedule she was unable to film her role.
For the past few months we have been thinking of who Saoirse could have played in the flick.
Irish Barbie? Oscar Nominee Barbie? Cool Barbie?
Well now she has revealed which classification of Barbie she was meant to be!
Saoirse revealed to Variety: “I was definitely going to be a Weird Barbie. I don’t know how to take that. I would have been with Kate McKinnon, so that would have been nice.
“I worked with Jacqueline Durran, the costume designer, after they’d made it and I was like, ‘Who was I going to be anyway?’ She was like, ‘Oh, obviously you are going to be a really weird Barbie, Saoirse’.”
Well, fair enough!
As for the scene she would have been in, Saoirse said: “I can’t even remember now, but it was weird. I think I’d be the strange girl who talked to herself and always had her pet dog with her and always talked to the dog and wouldn’t look at anyone.”
We’re so sad that we never got to see our Saoirse in Barbie. But we’re holding out hope for an appearance in a possible Barbie sequel!
