Ruth Negga could be in danger of not being nominated for an Oscar for Best Actress, according to movie experts.
The Ethiopian-Irish actress was tipped as a major contender for the coveted award as movie buffs made their predictions over the past few months – but it seems that the she may be left disappointed when nominations are announced tomorrow.
The 35-year-old has received high praise for her portrayal of Mildred Loving in Loving, but now, as nomination day draws closer, industry experts have predicted that she will narrowly miss out when the announcement is made.
Movie industry bible Variety has just released its final Best Actress predictions – and Ruth doesn’t feature on the list.
The magazine has picked; Natalie Portman (Jackie), Emma Stone (La La Land), Amy Adams (Arrival), Meryl Streep (Florence Foster Jenkins) and Isabelle Huppert (Elle) as their front runners for the nominations.
The nominations will be released at lunchtime tomorrow – we’re still holding out hope that Ruth will be one of the chosen five for the award!
