Roz Purcell has slammed her former boss Donald Trump, describing his recent controversial comments as “a joke.”

She signed to the billionaire’s modelling agency in New York after coming seventh place in the Miss Universe pageant back in 2010.

Roz moved overseas at just 20 years of age to try break into the American modelling industry, but returned to Ireland shortly afterwards.

Her former boss made headlines recently for his comments about refusing to let muslims enter America if he’s elected as president, leading Roz to think that it’s “strange” how many people take him seriously.

Speaking to The Herald, she said, “I love watching the news in the morning, and you’d hear all the stuff he’s saying and some of what he’s coming out with sounds like a joke.

“It’s so strange that people take him seriously, like you’d wonder if he’s just putting it on or if he really believes it.

“Last week he said he doesn’t believe in global warming – it’s mad. And for someone in such a powerful position, it’s scary because people in America will listen to him.”

This isn’t the first time Roz has spoken out about her former boss, as she previously opened up to Eoghan McDermott on 2FM, saying she hopes he doesn’t get elected.

She previously said, “I would be surprised if he became president of America. I think a lot of things he’s running his election on, I’d be really against so hope he won’t.”
