“October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month,” she wrote on Instagram.

“These are just two of the dresses that I’m donating to the Fashion Relief preloved boutique. Breast Cancer Ireland will receive all proceeds raised from donations.

“If you have any pre-loved pieces of women’s clothing and accessories that you would love to donate for a worthy cause, please drop off donations to Frascati Centre, Blackrock, Co. Dublin. Call 086 7813980 or ask a member of the Frascati Security team and they will take your bags.”

One in nine women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime, with 3,700 new cases being reported annually.

In Ireland, almost a quarter (23%) of women diagnosed with breast cancer are between 20 and 50 years of age, meaning that early checks and awareness are crucially important.

The eight signs of breast cancer are as follows:

  • A lump in the breast or armpit
  • Dimpling or retraction of the nipple
  • Changes around the nipple or discharge
  • A puckering of the breast skin
  • An unusual increase in the size of one breast
  • A lowering of one breast
  • Glands becoming enlarged
  • Swelling in the armpit

Through research from groups like Breast Cancer Ireland, survival rates have increased to 85%.
