Now, this we can get behind!
Yes, the rock legend that is Rod Stewart is set to hit Ireland later this summer and ahead of his highly anticipated gig, he couldn’t help but express that he and his wife Penny Lancaster are hoping to spend more time in our little country.
Speaking to Miriam O’Callaghan on Sunday with Miriam on RTÉ Radio 1, Rod said: “I can’t wait to get back to Dublin.
“Do you know I have an apartment there now?”
Miriam replied, saying that she had heard and asked if it was near the Aviva Stadium.
“Just up the road,” responded Rod.
With a permanent housing spot sorted, Miriam asked if it meant that he was planning on spending more time here.
“We intend to,” said Rod. “It’s decorated now… I think we’re coming over in the first week of May.”
Rod is set to play at the Royal Hospital Kilmainham on Sunday 26 May.
In 2021, him and his wife purchased a lovely apartment in the heart of Dublin 4 near the Aviva stadium.
“I’ve always loved Dublin, all my life since I went there with The Faces in the early ’70s, and I feel like I want to be there more.” he added.
