Reviewed: VIP’s favourite new beauty products

It's not easy to whittle it down to five, but here are our top picks...

We’ve tried plenty of fabulous products in VIP Towers as of late. Here’s Staff Editor Niamh’s top of the bunch…

goof proof

Benefit’s Goof Proof Brow Pencil

We have a lot to be thankful for from the Noughties, but over-plucking our brows sure ain’t one of them. One of my eyebrows is visably slighter than the other – I must have gotten a little overexcited with those pesky tweezers! Thankfully, we have plenty of products to fill out our brows nowadays, and Benefit is top of the class, especially with their most recent collection. Introducing nine new products, I was lucky enough to try all of them out – and for me, the Goof Proof pencil really stood out.

Essentially, it’s a magic wand for brows. One end has a blending spoolie-brush, while tip on the other end consists of a glide-on formula, available in six soft colours. It’s perfect for mornings where you need to fill in your brows pronto, and super-easy to apply. Another notable mention goes to 3D Browtones, a water-resistant brush-on highlighting gel that deposits just the right amount of product. Visit benefit cosmetics.com for more.

bare minerals

bareMinerals’ new skincare range

We all love a good facial and emerging from the salon with radiant, fresh skin. It’s rare that you can recreate this feeling at home, but I can confirm bareMinerals’ new skincare products do just that. I trialled the ‘Dirty Detox’ face mask, with charcoal and papaya enzyme among other ingredients, the ‘Pure Plush’ gentle deep cleansing foam and the ‘Butter Drench’ restorative rich cream and the results were incredible. With products packed with healthy components, it’s no wonder you’re left feeling great! bareminerals.co.uk.

Lancome Grandiose Liner

Lancome’s Grandiose Liner

Hands up who struggles with their liner application? Especially when it comes to the flick? Yup, me too. The amazing thing about Lancome’s new Grandiose Liner is that it has a 35-degree curve in the handle, making it a game changer, really, in how easy it is to apply. The formula is intensely matte and once it’s on, it will stay for the day. Plus, there are three stunning shades to choose from – I really like electric blue, which I’ll be applying for upcoming festivals! Available in Brown Thomas as we speak.

urban decay vice Urban Decay Vice lipsticks

Not sure what lipstick you’re in need of? Urban Decay’s Vice range is for you. There’s a whopping 100 shades to pick from, with varying levels of matte or sheer shimmer and in between. I’ve tried them out and can reveal my favourite: ‘Backtalk’. It’s a lovely pink/nude shade in ‘comfort matte’ and has become my handbag staple. Check them all out on urbandecay.com.

prmer

Too Faced’s ‘Hangover’ primer

If your skin is in need of TLC, I strongly recommend this primer as a base for your make up. Infused with coconut water, a probiotic-based ingredient, and skin revivers which work together to boost skin’s radiance, promote elasticity, and help hydrate, it helps lock in your foundation, powder and bronzer while maintaining a fresh, dewy look. It’s basically like an energy drink for the skin! Also worth noting is Too Faced’s ‘Born This Way’ foundation – teaming the two together has my skin looking its best as of late! You can get them both in Debenhams – have a browse through debenhams.ie.
