Ray D’Arcy has announced that there will be a change-up happening for the upcoming series of The Ray D’Arcy Show.
The show is set to return to our screens this Saturday, the 24th on RTE One, and it will have a new ‘good news’ section where a guest newsreader will read out happy news. Whether it be a wedding, birthday, exam results etc., Ray wants to hear from you.
Speaking on his radio programme, the host revealed that he’s looking for members of the public to get in touch and let him know of any good news they have to share.
“We’re going to bring good news to the television….which is good news! We’re looking for stories that put smiles on peoples faces that’s what we want from you. Think of it as an antidote to all the bad news.
“We have a very special guest newsreader for our good news slot on the television. But I can’t tell you too much about it because it’s under warps at the moment,” he said.
Speaking in this week’s TVNow magazine Ray admitted that there are changes coming our way with this series, and he’s very excited about them.
“It will still be a chat show, but there will be little things. The new producer Kathy Fox came in all buzzing and asked me what I wanted to achieve! So I told her I’d like it to feel looser and more interactive.
“I don’t want a situation where it could easily have been prerecorded, we need to make it feel more live,” he said.
