We’re used to seeing their famous mugs on the tv and now their voices will be taking over the airwaves too.

There has been a bit of a recent shake up and a string of celebrities have announced that they will now be setting their sights on to radio.

Tommy Tiernan is making his return this weekend with a new four-part weekly chat show on 2FM.

The live Saturday show will see the comedian interview guests before an audience without knowing the identity of the guest before they arrive.

The show will take place in The Sugar Club in Dublin and as always, Tommy is promising a lot of unpredictable fun and laughter.

Someone else who’s promising us a bit of fun on the airwaves is Eoghan McDermott who’s just landed the Drive Time slot on 2FM.

He’s no stranger to the radio as he already has a weekend slot in 2FM, but he’ll be taking over the prestigious position from Colm Hayes and has described it as a “privilege”.

It was also suggested that Eoghan’s Voice Of Ireland co-star Bressie might also be making a move to radio and following in his friend’s footsteps.

And according to The Herald earlier this year, Bressie had some meetings with 98FM about filling some potential slots on the station.

For now, he will be covering Jennifer Maguire, Bernard O’Shea and Keith Walsh by hosting 2FM’s Breakfast Republic, announcing on Twitter:

“I shall be co presenting @Republic2fm with @eoghanmcdermo on @RTE2fm all next week.”
