CARI Summer Lunch
Today Friday May 15th Miriam Ahern hosted her annual Summer Lunch in aid of CARI at The Shelbourne Hotel Dublin. CARI provides a professional child therapy and counselling service to children and families who have been affected by child sexual abuse.

Glamorous and stylish ladies dressed in chic summer looks, were out in force to enjoy the wonderful surroundings of The Shelbourne Hotel. The afternoon began with a champagne reception kindly sponsored by House, Dublin. The reception was followed by a delicious four-course gourmet lunch with wines supported by M&S. The charismatic Alan Hughes from TV3 was the MC for the afternoon. After lunch guests were entertained by the Sisters of Sound. The day came to an end after a fun filled raffle. Guests continued to enjoy the day at House Dublin where the official post lunch cocktails were served.

Guests who attended on the day included Miriam Ahern and Terry Mc Coy, Georgina Byrne, Jane Given and Lisa Fitzpatrick. Also in attendance were Carmel Breheny from M&S, Marissa Carter, Blathnaid Ni Chofaigh, Nuala Carey, Sean Munsanje, Chris Doyle and Gary Kavanagh to name but a few of the social faces who were enjoying the afternoon.

Mary Flaherty CEO CARI commented “Our fundraising events remain very important as we emerge from the recession. State funding remains static and if we are to grow our services again public donations and corporate support such as that provided each year by M&S to our signature lunch event are vital. Today we are making a special drive to fund a new outreach service that will offer therapy to children in their own community avoiding long commutes for them further disrupting their lives.
