Following the recent success of Normal People, all eyes have been on Paul Mescal and it seems everything he touches – or wears – turns to gold.
First it was the chain made famous by his character Connell Waldron, now it’s the GAA shorts.
Pictured out and about, Paul is regularly seen sporting a pair of O’Neill shorts, leading to the likes of GQ magazine branding him a ‘style icon’.
Wanting to get in on the summer’s hottest new trend, Gucci released a similar pair – but with a very different price tag, coming in at a cool €550.
When asked on social media if they sent him a pair, Paul simply laughed and said, “I mean I certainly would not say no.”

Earlier this week, it was revealed Paul helped raise a staggering €70,000 for Irish mental health charity, Pieta House, by raffling off one of his iconic chains from the show.
“I am delighted to be able to help Pieta by raffling off one of my own chains. Pieta is a cause very close to my heart, having experienced loss due to suicide in my local town while growing up,” he said.
Issuing a statement, the charity shared their sincere gratitude, revealing the money will be of huge benefit.
“Thank you to everyone who entered and for all the generous donations for the raffle of Paul Mescal’s chain. We have been blown away by the support,” they said.
