Paul Mescal and Barry Keoghan miss out on BAFTA wins

The BAFTA awards took place on Sunday night.

Cillian Murphy picked up a win for his role in Oppenheimer, making history as the first Irish born man to pick Best Leading Actor award.

But the Cork man wasn’t the only Irish nominee on the night.

Barry Keoghan was also nominated in the Best Actor category for his role in Saltburn.

While we were delighted to see the two nominated, it did mean that only one could win.

Barry won his first BAFTA award last year for Best Supporting Actor in Banshees of Inisherin. However, he was not too put out not to win this year.

He was rubbing shoulders with the likes of David Beckham on the night.

Paul Mescal was also nominated on Sunday night for Best Supporting Actor for his role in All of Us Strangers.

Unfortunately, he also missed out on the night as Robert Downey Jr won Best Supporting Actor for his role as Lewis Strauss in Oppenheimer.

But Paul had a great time all the same as he was joined by his entire family on the night to have a great time together.

And sure, isn’t that what it’s all about?
