It’s the question on everyone’s lips. Who will be replacing Ryan Tubridy?
Ryan announced his decision to leave The Late Late Show earlier this year. And his final day is fast approaching.
He is due to leave the long-running chat show on May 26 after 14 years at the helm.
And now another name has entered into the conversation.
Patrick Kielty has made his way up the betting odds and is among the favourites to take over the role.
His odds have been slashed all the way down to 2/1, making him the second favourite behind Claire Byrne.
“We’ve seen some significant bets on Patrick Kielty to get the Late Late Show job. So much so that we’ve had to chop his price from 12/1 to 2/1,” a spokesperson for Paddy Powers has said.
And it’s not just bookmakers who have their eyes on Patrick as his wife Cat Deeley has also shared her support for him.
“I know his name is in the mix [for The Late Late Show]. And I know that he would do the most phenomenal job as, you know, he’s got the right balance of entertainment and politics, and he’s got skin in the game in that he’s very aware of what happens in Ireland all the time,” she told Life Magazine.
