Between Stanley Tucci and the highly anticipated soon-to-be visit of Tom Hanks, Ireland has seen quite the host of Hollywood talent visit its shores recently.
However, it doesn’t stop there, as Morgan Freeman is the latest celebrity to be added to the list of iconic actors making their way to our little island this summer.
Yes, Morgan will join the RTÉ Concert Orchestra in the continued celebrations of its 75th anniversary as an honorary MC next month.
Pulling out all the stops, the event will also include a gig that will see the orchestra collaborate with US-based blues musician David O’Rourke on The Delta Blues Project.

The 85-year-old Oscar-winning actor is best known for his work on movies such as The Shawshank Redemption, Batman Begins and Seven.
But has a passion for Blues music, being co-founder and co-owner of Ground Zero Blues Club, located in Clarksdale, Mississippi.
The Delta Blues Project takes place on Sunday, June 11th at O’Reilly Hall, UCD and will feature the music of both the blues greats (Robert Johnson, BB King, John Lee Hooker) and those who are inspired by them.
It also aims to introduce some of today’s finest American jazz and blues musicians to Irish audiences.
