Niamh De Brún looked absolutely stunning when she walked the red carpet at this year’s Platinum VIP Style Awards.
She tells us that she has taken herself “out of mammy mode” for the night!
She is the proud mother of 18-month-old Harper, but Niamh has always been open about the highs and lows of parenting.
We love her honesty! Although she laughs that is “probably a bit too honest”! So why did she chose to get candid about motherhood?
“I think when I had Harper, I was so grateful that I was lucky enough to conceive and get pregnant and have a lovely baby at the end of it,” she explains.
“But I felt, maybe because my algorithm wasn’t mammy-focused, I didn’t see that realness online. I felt that people weren’t portraying the easy part of motherhood.”
And we all know that motherhood isn’t a walk in the park!
Or the GAA pitch for that matter, as Harper is a frequent spectator at her father, TJ Reid’s hurling matches!
“It is really hard to bring a toddler to matches. She won’t sit down, she sees daddy on the pitch, she wants to go down to him, it’s all go-go-go! It’s not easy, but I want to bring those memories for her,” Niamh explains.
And of course, we’re sure to see little Harper herself on the pitch very soon!
“TJ keeps telling everyone that she’s playing under fives! She’s only 18 months old!”
We’re sure she’ll follow in her daddy’s footsteps very soon.
