Despite reports in the Sun today, Newstalk has vehemently denied that Pat Kenny’s job within the station is in jeopardy.
The paper revealed that Pat Kenny’s future in Newstalk could be on the line, as his listenership – which allegedly plateaued at 134,000 – has failed to reach the level expected by station bosses, but this isn’t the case.
Commenting on the article this afternoon Garrett Harte, Editor in Chief of Newstalk said: “This article is a complete work of fiction and contains absolutely no truth whatsoever.
“Pat has boosted audience figures for his programme by over 150% since starting two years ago.
“We are very happy with Pat’s performance and we are actively planning a number of large campaigns for next year including the General Election and Ireland’s appearance at the European Championships.”
