Muireann O’Connell is enjoying a week off in Kerry but no holiday can compare to the greatest day of her life.
No, it’s not her wedding day. She brushes off the idea that her wedding is any time soon as she speaks to VIP Magazine.
“No aisle date. No plans, literally none. If it involves excel I’m not doing it,” she tells us with the most serious expression.
So what is the best day of her life? Meeting two Mr Darcys of course!
Earlier this year, she interviewed Colin Firth and Matthew MacFadyen on Ireland AM and she’s still flustered talking about it.
“Jesus Christ, wasn’t that amazing? As someone whose sexual awaken was Colin Firth jumping into the lake in the 1995 version!” she jokes.
“I didn’t know what was happening to my body at the time, I was like ‘Oh this is weird!’
“Seeing him there in front of me and he’s as affable and lovely as he is. And then seeing other Mr Darcy, they were everything. They were so lovely.

“I loved that they wanted to talk about Pride and Prejudice. Hot under the collar my friend, that’s how I was.”
Okay, maybe it wasn’t the best moment of her life, but it was certainly up there!
So when she’s not trying to enlist Tommy Bowe as a wedding planner (“I’m not even joking he would be good at it, he’s a planner.”) what else is Muireann up to?
“I’m just working away. I haven’t even been on Ireland AM a year yet, the time has totally and utterly flown. I feel like I’ve been there an awful lot longer, I’m just really enjoying it.
“Just bedding in, staying awake, you can sleep when you’re dead, it’s all fine.”
However, she does tease, “I have a few plans coming up.”
Although she coyly looks away when she says this…we’re intrigued.
