Mrs Brown’s Boys star Fiona O’Carroll has spoken about her families financial struggles before their hit show took off.
Fiona, who is Brendan O’ Carroll’s daughter, plays Maria Brown in the comedy show, and says the beginning of their career was not as easy as things are now.
“We’re far better off than we were.” She told The Irish Mirror.
When we were touring years ago before the BBC, there were weeks when we didn’t get paid, there was no money there.
“Not just weeks, there were months that went by when we were paying our own expenses.
“I personally had to fund to get the set shipped overseas and I had to stick it on my credit card because nobody had a penny and I was praying to God that in a month’s time I might make some money to pay off my credit card bill.
“When the going is good it’s great but you have to remember there are rainy days in this industry”
We’re thankful the risk paid off for the O’Carrolls!
