Miriam Mullins is giving it her all on the Dancing with the Stars stage.
She’s best known for her online presence but she has been eager to prove herself outside of just being a TikToker.
Although, she admits that she was “apprehensive” about saying yes to the show as she felt like there was a “stigma” surrounding influencers.
Speaking to VIP Magazine about the reaction she has received she admits that she is “really surprised”.
“Going into it I was really apprehensive because there’s still a lot of stigma around influencers getting opportunities,” she confesses.
“But I’ve had the best reaction ever. People who don’t even follow me are coming onto my page. It’s worked really well because I’m getting a new audience on top of the audience I already have. So it’s really nice.”
As a proud Cork woman, she is quick to gush about the support she has from her local area.
“Where I live down in Cork, all the local businesses are sharing me going on Dancing with the Stars. The local support as well as the people online has surprised me!”
Of course, she is aware that her profile will be raised during her time on the show and is hopeful that she will get even more opportunities. Her dream is TV presenting.
“I always wanted to do presenting. I have a degree in media, so I always wanted to go down that route,” she admits.
“That’s why I started the TikTok really because it was a way to express myself and do some acting. I thought if it did well it would open up other opportunities to me and that’s exactly what it did. But it did take an awful lot of hard work and dedication. It’s been amazing.”
