Michael Flatley took to the stage at the Inaugural Ball last night to introduce his Lord of the Dance troupe, as part of the celebrations for newly instated president Donald Trump.
The dancers flew from Ireland to Washington for the celebrations in Liberty Hall, and Michael said it was a great “honour” to be invited to take part in the event.
“To introduce the greatest team of dancers in the world – the cast of Lord of the Dance. They’ve come with me all the way from Ireland tonight to celebrate the election of America’s new president Donald Trump,” he said while introducing the group.
“May God bless him and guide him, I hope you enjoy the show.”

Michael and his dancing troupe have received high praise for their impressive performance, but have also been heavily criticised for taking part in the controversial inaugural celebrations.
