Meet this year’s Irish Apprentice contestant

Looks like we have one of our own to cheer on this year, as Irish entrepreneur Conor Galvin has been announced as the only Irish candidate set to appear on the upcoming season of The Apprentice.

Taking to Instagram, Conor shared the exciting news that he has been selected as one of 20 contestants chosen by Lord Sugar himself for Season 20 of The Apprentice, marking a major milestone in his business journey.

Out of thousands of applicants, Lord Sugar has selected 20 business plans he is considering for investment, with one winner set to receive a £250,000 investment.

Conor revealed he applied for the show after just six months of operating his business, Press Print Paper, with ambitions to expand across Ireland and the UK.

As the sole Irish contestant this season, Conor said he hopes to prove he has what it takes to impress Lord Sugar, despite stiff competition from 19 other ambitious candidates.

Reflecting on the challenge ahead, he teased viewers by asking whether he’ll “bring the competition to life” or be “humbled in the boardroom,” encouraging fans to tune in to see how his journey unfolds.

His company, Press Print Paper, is aimed at transforming special moments into timeless, vintage-style newspaper prints.

“Since 2023, we’ve been adding a touch of nostalgia to events across Ireland, the UK, and beyond,” his page says.

Conor has said he wants the company to become a household name and expand to London, Manchester and Birmingham.

He also added that while his business may be fun and light-hearted, he is a serious candidate who is “constantly learning the tougher side of strategy, structure and scaling”.

So, can Conor go all the way? We’ll just have to tune in and find out!

The Apprentice returns to BBC One on Thursday, January 29th at 9pm.
