Matthew MacNabb has opened up about losing his uncle this week.
He admitted that it was “tough” to learn about the loss, however, the reality star has tried to keep an optimistic attitude.
During a Q&A on Instagram, he was asked how he was getting on recently.
“I lost my uncle this week which was tough but it helped me realise that I have a lot of amazing people around me to be thankful for,” he wrote.
“Big lesson the last two years has been appreciate times spent with those around you,” he continued. “People are what makes the journey special. Grateful for those past and present that have impacted my life.”
“It also got me thinking that I need to do more for others as that’s what I remember my uncle for and he made a great impact on the world.”
“That time that we had without people knowing was good for us to start things off and allow it to progress and grow,” Laura confessed.
Matthew added they wanted to celebrate that time together: “For me, it felt almost as if it would belittle what it was. I’d rather keep things private for as long as possible.”
They even kept their relationship secret from their families, although they admit both of their mothers were trying to get them together from the beginning!
“They all met super early and they were definitely rooting for us from the start,” Laura admits.
“They were secretly trying to make it work and get us together but didn’t know there was already something there between us.”
